Dear Parish Coordinator of the Catechumenate,
Greetings to you and your community.
As ministers of Christian initiation, called to the service of the Church, let us take time to reflect on these words from a letter of Saint Paul to the Christian community in Corinth:
Brothers and sisters:
therefore, since we have this ministry through the mercy shown us,
we are not discouraged.
Since we have the same spirit of faith,
according to what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke,
we too believe and therefore we speak,
knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus
and place us in his presence.
Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more
and more people....
may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.
Therefore, we are not discouraged.
2 Corinthians 4: 1, 13 - 16
And so, let us pray:
Heavenly Father,
you have called us to serve your people in truth and love
as ministers of Christian initiation.
May we be faithful to this call,
rooted in your Word and open to the gifts of the Holy Sprit.
May we use the gifts of faith, hope and love,
to serve your people.
Let your Spirit enlighten our minds and strengthen our hearts
so that we may be a path of Christ's love, mercy and grace.
Make us effective evangelizers, ministers of hospitality, catechists, sponsors, leaders of prayer and ministers of your Holy Word and sacraments.
We make this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, our risen Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Amen.

Topic: An Introduction to the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults - OCIA
As of the First Sunday of Advent, December 1, 2024, the new ritual book titled:
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults will be in use in all the dioceses of the United States of America.
The Nov. 2nd Catechumenate Forum, will give us an understanding of the new ritual book, with its new words, titles and national statutes.
Online Registration for the Nov. 2nd Forum will be open in August 2024.
